Late Shri Galbabhai N. Patel Boys’ Hostel (2002)

As students come from far-flung places in the district to avail of the educational facilities offered by BKDKM, a hostel becomes an important necessity for such students.

Hostel living also inculcates the values of co-operation and discipline; and saves valuable energy and time (otherwise spent in commuting) which can be dedicated to studying. To cater to this need, BKDKM constructed a boys’ hostel with a donation received in the name of Late Shri Galbabhai N. Patel.

Every year 39 students are accommodated in this hostel. However, there is an urgent need to augment the facilities to be able to cater to an additional 80 students at least; which can be done by adding a floor to the existing hostel building.

Smt. Leelaben Chimanlal Parikh Audio Visual Centre (2008)

Computer-based audiovisual equipment is often used in education with projection equipment and interactive whiteboard technology. There are many uses of audio-visual methods for teaching in the current era.

BKDKM has established this centre with a donation from the family of Smt. Leelaben Chimanlal Parikh. Most of all the colleges on campus, as well as other educational institutions, banks and other social mandals use this hall and its facilities for their classes and programmes.

K. Girdharlal Open Air Theatre (2008)

In order to hold cultural meets, annual art festivals and other such functions BKDKM has been able to put up an Open Air Theatre with a donation received from K. Girdharlal International Pvt. Ltd. This theatre has an audience capacity of 1500.

All the colleges on the campus as well as banks in Palanpur and other social mandals also use this open air theatre for their programmes.

Shri Jormalbhai & Smt Laxmiben J. Mehta Central Library (2009)

One of the finest additional facilities offered by BKDKM and one which holds pride of place on the campus is the Central Library. It is acknowledged as one of the best libraries in the area with an enviable collection of books, and other published material. The library maintains more than 83,000 volumes which include books, latest periodicals, journals and technical papers to keep students abreast of the latest advancements and modern trends in various subjects including in the fields of science and technology.

Moreover, it is well furnished, has a fully computerised digital library with a computer-aided search facility.

The library has been set up with the generous donation received from Shri Ajay Jormalbhai Mehta & Family.

Shri Kalidas S. Doshi Research Library (2008)

Situated on the second floor of the Central Library building, the Research Library, dedicated for that purpose, has a vast collection of dictionaries, encyclopaedias and reference books on a variety of subjects. The teaching staff, research and PG Students use this reference material widely to do their research work. Fifteen teachers have taken advantage of this library and its facilities to complete their Ph.D. thesis, so far.

The Research library has been established with a donation received from Diwalibai & Kalidas Sakalchand Doshi Charitable Trust.

Dr. Ushaben K. Mehta Research Centre (2008)

Several teachers of the BKDKM colleges have written research articles and books, which have been published by various international and national publishing house. For PG teaching staff and research students a Research Centre was established with a donation received in the memory of Dr. Ushaben K. Mehta.

Many PG students and teaching staff have benefited from the use of this centre over the years and continue to do so.
